Appointments

Consultations are by appointment and can be booked in person or over the telephone. If you require an urgent face-to-face appointment or telephone consultation with the doctor please call at 08:00.

Appointments are for 10 minutes and for 2 issues only. Please try not to raise other issues during the 10 minutes.

Patients who are 10 minutes late in attending will be seen after the next patient. Anyone arriving 20 minutes late will be seen at the end of surgery. Anyone arriving later than that will have to book another appointment.

Staff have been instructed to ask for the reason for your appointment, please cooperate with them.

For routine matters:

    ·       Call before 10am for home visits.
    ·       Call between 9.30 – 2pm for prescriptions.

    ·       Call between 3-5pm for test results.

Thank you for your understanding.

Note: Online Appointments are now available for both telephone and face-to-face consultations.

Appointments

Practice Nurses, Practice Pharmacist and Health Care Assistant

In a number of cases it might be worth considering an appointment with our Advanced Nurse Practitioner, rather than a Doctor - examples of this could be for Asthma, COPD and Diabetes reviews and child immunisations. Our Advanced Nurse Practitioner is an independent prescriber and is able to deal with many conditions and you may be seen more quickly. Our Health Care Assistant can take bloods and check and record your BP. She is also qualified to conduct NHS Health Checks. She can administer Shingles, Flu, Pneumonia and B12 injections and vaccinations. Making appropriate use of clinician appointments will get patients seen earlier in many cases, leading to what we hope will be higher rates of patient satisfaction.

To make an appointment call the surgery during opening times.

For blood test requests, in most cases you will need to speak to a Clinician initially and can be booked thereafter with our Health Care Assistant, unless you have been invited by the Practice beforehand.

Patients can also book telephone appointments for the doctor to call you back.

Cancellations

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
